So… What is that called BioInformatics? Well… BioInfo is just the combination of the natural complex problems found by biological sciences and the efficient and probably the unique way of solving those dilemma by computer engineering. Of course this is a very general description but the truth is that this discipline is growing in importance specially in medicine, and specifically in the “omics” sciences. Have you heard about Genomics and its cousins? I guess I’ll write about them one day as I think they are the pillars of what is BioInfo today and where it is taking us.

This blog is gonna be what is called in spanish (and I want to call it like that) a “Cuaderno de Bitácora” of how my brain understands day by day BioInfo. It is not just cheap filosophy but rather a tool to tidy up what BioInfo offers for me and for any visitor.

I am still not sure of what are the categories (main topics) to be developed but from the very first post I want to invite any unlucky fellow share their interests and thoughts about anything in this blog, after all, it is Open Source. (I think I should create another post to specify how to contribute in case you are not very familiar with this).
